It's been a rough couple of weeks for me. The loss of my dentist of 38 years at the young age of 62. The sudden and unexpected illness and departure of my local Rotary President. Surprising and sad developments for one of my nieces and her family. I've been feeling overwhelmed with loss and sadness. My plate is full and the peas are falling off!!! I'm 54 and no doubt experiencing the symptoms of menopause! Ahh, such is life.
And then, when I needed it most, I receive an invitation to join a group of ladies for an evening out. Most of them I've known for awhile through my work. All but two of them are retired - one on the verge of retirement.
First we dine on homemade appetizers and some nice wine. It was time to relax, unwind, and enjoy the company and kindness of great lady friends. Later we move on to a local eatery for delicious seafood, more wine, and more conversation and laughs.
I felt so much better after my evening. I was reminded of the importance of good friends and how helpful they can be when you are feeling down. A big thanks and blog hugs to my "New Friends" who called on me when I really needed it. I look forward to being with all of you again real soon.
